Seems like a natural transition.

Agreed; however, adaptability is more behavioral than it is physiological.

You made me think about that one Jarrod. I agree on your point about physiology. In business, being willing to adapt behavior is crucial. I wish the Big Three automakers had been thinking about that years before they stuck their hands out for a bailout.
ReplyDeleteYes... behavior (and getting folks to change their behavior) is the key to solving our problems -- from energy independence and climate change to this recession.
ReplyDeleteBecause even when things make sense for a business, the people who run the business have to be willing to change. And people don't like change.
And even smart people who know better struggle to change behaviors - whether it means recycling or just eating less because its good for the environment and their bodies.
But change can happen. My husband for example, who cares very much about the environment, did not recycle when we got married. I can't explain why. He just didn't. And I bet today he can't image not recycling. We not only recycle but we compost and collect rain water and improved the efficiency of our house and buy organic and local.
It didn't happen overnight, but it did happen and it can for others if we keep educating and making change as pain free as possible. Just don't ask me how.
